Kids Ministry Frequently Asked Questions

Below are things we think you might like to know about our Kids Ministry.

What is the sick child policy?

For the health and safety of everyone, we ask if your child is feeling ill and showing symptoms that you would engage with church in the comfort of your home! Specifically in the Nursery we will be watching for these symptoms:

  • Fever
  • Diarrhea
  • Red, swollen, or matted eyes
  • Undetermined skin rash
  • Persistent cough
  • Green or discolored mucus

Children who show signs of fever, vomiting, or other contagious illnesses should be symptom and fever free for 24 hours before coming to Kids Ministry.

Who is allowed to work with kids?

We think serving in Kids ministry is the best place to invest your time. Safety is also a top priority. Before a person serves in our Next Gen Ministries they are:

  • Background checked
  • References checked
  • Screened by our pastoral staff
  • Interviewed
  • Trained in our Code of Conduct

How do we handle emergencies?

Safety of children is the top priority in all of our environments. Our Kids Ministry staff, security team, and volunteers are all trained and ready to handle these situations.
In the case of an emergency you will need:

  • Parent pick-up sticker
  • Photo ID

What should my child bring?

There is no need to bring anything. We do our best to be prepared and make sure there is plenty to do! So rather than risk misplacing anything at church, why not keep everything safe in the comfort of your home. However, if your student has a favorite notebook or bible we would welcome it.

Can parents stay?

Parents are welcome to join our Kids service as a guest leader. This is for the benefit and safety of all the students in service. If a parent joins their child for service we ask that you wear a guest lanyard so you can be easily identified. To get a guest lanyard, just ask a leader with a name tag.

Will there be a snack?

On occasion! If we do provide a snack, you will be notified at the check-in desk of your child's environment. We will also have an allergy safe option available to anyone that needs it.
